Alkalescent Foods are Conducive for Polycystic Kidney Disease Patients

Under normal circumstances, both the blood and body fluids are weak alkaline and the PH value is between 7.35 and 7.45 and this condition is the best internal state for human health. Therefore it is conducive for our health to have more alkalescent foods in our daily diet. It has been proved that alkalescent foods are good for the recovery of PKD and can help slow down the progression of PKD into renal failure.
The common alkalescent foods include:
1.       Vegetables: Wax gourd, tomatoes, pumpkin, cucumber, turnip, spinach, cabbage, cabbage, rape, celery, lotus, onion, eggplant, potato, etc.
2.       Fruits: Apples, pears, bananas, peach, strawberry, plum, plum, persimmon, grapes, orange, grapefruit, lemon, etc.
3.       Bean and bean products: bean curd, peas, soybean, green beans, etc.
4.       A mushroom, bamboo shoots, chestnuts, tea, coffee, wine and so on, especially algae such as kelp, laver which contain much higher minerals than fruits and vegetables.
5.       Sweet potato is strong alkaline food so PKD patients should have more.
At last I want to mention that not all the above listed foods are suitable for PKD patients. There are some restrictions on the foods of PKD patients.
PKD patients should have low-protein, low-salt, low-fat and high-vitamin foods. Hot and excitant foods such as hot pepper, tobacco and alcohol should be avoided. Coffee, chocolate and strong tea should also be avoided. As for the intake of protein, vegetable protein should be limited or avoided. High quality protein such as milk, lean meat and egg white are good choice.
