Kidney Cyst Pain Treatment

Kidney pain is confused with back pain or stomach pain. This is because the pain caused due to these reasons often radiates to the back and the groin. People, therefore, often ignore kidney pain. It is essential to note that kidney pain is usually accompanied with other symptoms.
Surgery is recommended for patients whose cysts are of considerable size. Once removed, the pain stops. According to Cedars-Sinai Health System, there are three forms of surgery offered for kidney cysts: laparoscopy and cyst removal, percutaneous kidney surgery and retrograde inrarenal surgery.
Treat underlying infections. Kidney cysts sufferers are more prone to suffer kidney, bladder and urinary tract infections. In order to treat pain associated with these infections, it is important to visit your doctor who will prescribe antibiotics to get rid of the infection. Once the underlying infection has been treated, pain should decrease.
CT scans are used to monitor kidney cysts that are small and do not cause any pain. Your doctor may not recommend treatment unless you experience any symptoms from the cysts.

What Are Causes Of Swollen Kidney

Causes Of Swollen Kidney
The kidneys play an important function in the urinary system. The kidneys are responsible in the reabsorption of glucose, water, and amino acids, substances that are essential to the body. Indeed, having a swollen kidney means there is an inflammation of the kidney which may indicate a serious kidney failure.
Causes Of  Swollen Kidney
The following causes of Enlarged kidneys are diseases or conditions that affect more than 200,000 people :
1. Polycystic Kidney Disease
A genetic disorder known as polycystic kidney disease causes multiple cysts to grow in the kidneys. The cysts destroy normal kidney tissue, leading to enlargement of the kidneys. The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center explains that this condition is a congenital defect in the chromosomes, which has a 50 percent risk of being passed to offspring when present in one parent. Adults with one dominant polycystic kidney gene experience onset of symptoms after 30 years of age. Symptoms include pressure in the abdomen from swollen kidneys, back pain and fatigue.
2. Glomerulonephritis
Glomeruli are tiny filters in the kidneys that connect to tubules. The combination of glumeruli and tubules make up a nephron, which is the basin functioning unit of the kidney. They function to filter the blood and return to the circulation substances such as protein, sugars, and other important nontoxic materials necessary for the bodily functions. Once the glomeruli are infected with bacteria or virus, it will cause inflammation; and once it affects quite a lot of them already, it will lead to marked inflammation of the kidney, causing the kidney to swell.
3. Hydronephrosis
Unilateral hydronephrosis refers to one enlarged kidney that is swollen due to backed up urine. If both kidneys are swollen the condition is known as bilateral hydronephrosis. Generally, these conditions occur as a result of another problem with the kidneys which prevents urine from entering into the bladder and therefore backing up in the kidneys. An obstruction can be a possible reason for this occurrence. For this reason, in addition to kidneyenlargement, an abdominal mass can sometimes be present in an individual with this condition.
4. Other Causes Of Enlarged kidneys
Kidney infection
Malignancies of the bladder, kidney, prostate, and other surrounding structures
Damage to the blood vessels that carries blood to and away from the kidneys

Effective Treatment for Chronic Nephritis

Chronic Nephritis is a kidney disease which damages the organs in kidney. A variety of factors lead to this kind of disease, particularly it caused by damage in issues of immune syImmunotherapy. Many patients suffer from the pain caused by Chronic Nephritis and can’t cast it off. Is there any effective treatment for Chronic Nephritis?
Experts in Shijiazhuang Kidney Disease Hospital developed Immune Treatment which is effective for Chronic Nephritis. This new treatment brings new hope for patients with Chronic Nephritis.
There are six steps in immune treatment we need to take to stop the damage in our kidney and recover the function of our kidney. These steps are as follows:
1. Immune Diagnosis
2. Immune Blocking-up
3. Immune Tolerance
4. Immune Regulating
5. Immune Protecting
6. Immune Eliminating
Immune Treatment is a perfect combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. The Western medicine is used for controlling the inflammation and damaged cells, while the traditional Chinese medicine is used for regulating and recovering the original function of kidney. Homeopathy And PKD

Polycystic kidney disease is a cystic genetic disorder of thekidneys. There are two types of PKD: autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease and the less-common autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD).
PKD is characterized by the presence of multiple cysts typically in both kidneys; however 17% of cases initially present with observable disease in one kidney, with most cases progressing to bilateral disease in adulthood. The cysts are numerous and are fluid-filled, resulting in massive enlargement of the kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and, in some rare cases, the heart and brain. The two major forms of polycystic kidney disease are distinguished by their patterns of inheritance.
When Polycystic kidney disease causes kidneys to fail—which usually happens after many years—the patient requires dialysis or kidney transplantation. About one-half of people with the most common type of Polycystic kidney disease progress to kidney failure, also called end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
Treatment Polycystic Kidney Disease With Homeopathy
Homeopathy treats the person as a whole. It means that homeopathic treatment focuses on the patient as a person, as well as his pathological condition. The homeopathic medicines are selected after a full individualizing examination and case-analysis, which includes the medical history of the patient, physical and mental constitution etc. A miasmatic tendency (predisposition/susceptibility) is also often taken into account for the treatment of chronic conditions. The medicines given below indicate the therapeutic affinity but this is not a complete and definite guide to the treatment of this condition. The symptoms listed against each medicine may not be directly related to this disease because in homeopathy general symptoms and constitutional indications are also taken into account for selecting a remedy. To study any of the following remedies in more detail, please visit our Materia Medica section. None of these medicines should be taken without professional advice.

What Is Cortical Cyst In Left Kidney

Cortical cyst is a rather unusual location in the left kidney- it occupies a central part (the middle third) of the kidney extending from the outer cortex to the renal pelvis. This appearance can mimic a calyceal diverticulum or caliectasis.Cortical Cyst is very common and occurs in about 50% of people over the age of 50. Renal cysts account for 60-65% of all renal masses. Many people have them and it is usually benign. A cyst is defined as a membranous sac containng fluid. A simple renal cyst is a classification given to renal cysts that "appear round or oval... without infections, calcifications, septations or divisions of its walls.
The simple renal cortical cyst or parapelvic cyst is discovered incidentally so it's important to differentiate it from a true renal neoplasm. Renal cysts account for 60-65% of all renal masses. Large cortical cysts can show up as a palpable flank mass and parapelvic cysts can be detected producing extrinsic compression or mass effect on the collecting system on an intravenous pyelography (IVP) exam. Renal cysts are rarely associated with conditions like tuberous sclerosis, von Hippel-Lindau disease, neurofibromatosis, or Caroli's disease. In most of these cases, the systemic condition already exists prior to the discovery of the renal cysts. Atypical renal cell carcinomas can develop as a complex cystic mass, although its appearance on US, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is easily differentiated from a simple cyst.

Causes and Symptoms Of Swollen Kidney

What Is Swollen Kidney
A swollen kidney is most commonly caused by some type of blockage. This can include kidney stones or a calcification of the kidney. A swollen kidney might be the result of chronic kidney disease. The people who are most often affected with a swollen kidney include those who suffer from diabetes, poor nutrition, obesity, or high blood pressure. Kidney swelling can sometimes be controlled with certain types of medications but it is important to see a urologist.
Causes of Swollen Kidney
A genetic disorder known as polycystic kidney disease causes multiple cysts to grow in the kidneys. The cysts destroy normal kidney tissue, leading to enlargement of the kidneys. The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center explains that this condition is a congenital defect in the chromosomes, which has a 50 percent risk of being passed to offspring when present in one parent. Adults with one dominant polycystic kidney gene experience onset of symptoms after 30 years of age. Symptoms include pressure in the abdomen from swollen kidneys, back pain and fatigue.
Hydronephrosis is distention or swelling of the kidneys due to obstructions between the ureter and renal pelvis. Merck Manuals Online Medical Library notes that this condition can result from a blood clot or stones in the ureter. Interstitial nephritis is inflammation of the kidneys that may be temporary or chronic, depending on the cause.
Symptoms Of Swollen Kidney
The symptoms of kidney diseases like swollen kidneyetc. become more obvious with the aggravation of the problem. The process of urinating becomes problematic as some times it becomes difficult to urinate and severally you can observe blood or dark color in the urine. Severally functioning of kidney get adversely effected as it becomes unable to expel the waste water of the body after collecting it. This increases the swelling in various other parts of the body including eyes, foot, testicles and kidneys due to increase in water content that can not be removed by them.
Extreme fatigue, vomiting, nausea, itchy skin, shortness of breath and anemia are some of the symptoms that are usually observed among the patients of last stage nearing to kidney failure. Some people observe lack of concentration in doing their routine tasks due to the symptoms ofkidney problems which make them dizzy and confused in their usual activities. Some people observe cramping in their muscles, fragile bones, headaches and pain in lower back with the gradual increase in kidney problem. extensive medical treatment at this stage becomes most essential as leaving it untreated can collapse the working of kidneys which can be termed as kidney failure which can not be reverted in any condition as the internal organ get damaged and can ultimately cause death to the patient.

What Causes Of Kidney Shrinkage

My wife is suffering from kidney shrinkage. she was told that both her kidneys have shrunk so she underwent urine and blood tests, which came out all normal. Earlier her calcium levels were very low but now are normal. But now her iron level is low and the doctor has told him that something in his body is over producing. What causes kidney shrinkage?
Advanced kidney disease from most causes can lead to small 'shrunken' kidneys. For her age, there are a myriad of causes that can lead to kidney disease including congenital anomalies and glomerular diseases like FSGS. Congenital anomalies of kidneys usually present early in life. Did she have frequent urinary infections as a kid? If urine studies are normal, glomerular disease is less likely. There are wide variety of other causes that can lead to kidney disease. At this stage, it may be difficult to find out the exact cause. It is common to see calcium and hemoglobin/iron abnormalities in patients with end stage kidney disease requiring dialysis. There are medications to correct these abnormalities.
If one kidney is small and the other one is completely normal, it is usually possible to lead a normal life without problems. However, if both kidneys are small, there may bekidney failure. Also, the one small kidney can cause problems such as high blood pressure, even if the other kidney is normal. Therefore people who are found to have a small kidney normally have some medical tests performed to see whether further treatment or observation over a period of time is necessary.
An infection in a kidney can cause it to shrink. Normally kidney infections do not cause permanent damage to a kidney, or leave a small scarred area in the kidney. Occasionally, though, a severe kidney infection (acute pyelonephritis) can damage the kidney so much that it becomes small. An infection bad enough to cause this may occur in someone with reflux nephropathy.
Surgical removal of a small kidney is often performed, but is not always necessary. If a small kidney is causing no problems there is no need to remove it. If the kidney is causing pain or recurrent infection, or is suspected to be a cause of high blood pressure, removal may be indicated. Doctors are usually reluctant to remove a kidney that is doing useful work, even if it is causing some trouble, in case a problem develops with the better kidney in the future. If a small kidney is providing more than 25% (one quarter) of the total level of kidney function (this can be measured using a test called a radioisotope scan), doctors often suggest trying to control any problems caused by the kidney with drugs (such as long term antibiotics for infection), before removing the kidney.

Polycystic Kidney Disease and Pregnancy Story

Hi! I am so happy to see another person here who has PKD like me. I learned I had PKD when I was 19 through an ultrasound preformed on my kidneys. I received it through my mom's side of the family.
I am currently in my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy was rough. I developed pre eclampsia early on in the second trimestor (around 16 weeks). I had to deliver by c-section at 31 weeks due to the protien in the urine amounting to 17g.
I personally blame myself for this because I did not go see my nephrologist until much later on in the pregnancy and chose to let the OB moniter the blood pressure. My reasoning for this at the time was that I found the Nephrology office a little creepy. You never see another healthy looking person in there, but I guess thats because they see the sicker patients more often then those in the beginning stage.
Anyway to get back on topic. After my first pregnancy the high blood pressure stayed as well as the protien leaking in the urine; although the amount has greatly reduced to 100mg. (I am told that even a normal healthy person may pass that much at some point or another) At first I saw my nephrologist every month, and then when the protein started dropping to normal levels, I saw him every 3 months for a while. Now, I am back to seeing him once a year.
I was a little nervous going into my second pregnancy, and my mother didnt help matters because she is against it claiming that I nearly died with the first one. (Both OB and Nephrologist have assured me that that was not the case) She has even went as far as telling me that I was crazy for not getting a tubal litgation immediatly after my first, and of course she also claimed that breastfeeding my baby was bad for my health, which made me feel more sad when I couldnt breastfeed beyond 3 months. I had no encouragement, high blood pressure problems, and postpartum depression. (Dont get discouraged if you get negative comments, especially ones made from ignorance.)
So I am now in my second pregnancy, and everything is moving smoothly. Knock on wood! Protien is low, and blood pressure is under control. My nephrologist has prescribed a little extra more then the actual dosage I take so that if the blood pressure did run a little high due to eating a higher salt food item, I dont run out of medicine before the end of the month. He has taught me how to moniter it and when it does become high, how much extra I can take to help control it. But so far I have enjoyed this pregnancy and its lack of complications. I am looking forward to delivering a healthy baby girl by October.

How to Improve Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) and Kidney Function Naturally

Glomerular filtration rate, is an indicator of how well your kidneys are working. A test estimates how much blood passes through your glomeruli, which are tiny filters in your kidneys, each minute. While a reduction in your kidney function usually cannot be reversed, you sometimes can slow or prevent the progress of your kidney disease. In early stages, dietary changes coupled with medication may help extend the life of your kidneys.
Improve Glomerular Filtration Rate
Limit the amount of sodium you consume. When your kidney health is poor, extra sodium and fluid will build up in your body. Substitute spices and herbs for table salt. Swap salty snacks like pretzels and potato chips for unsalted popcorn. Choose fresh meats instead of cured meats. Choose prepackaged foods that are low in sodium. Check food labels on processed, canned and frozen foods. This strategy is important whether or not you are on dialysis. Sodium also raises risk for high blood pressure which can lead to kidney disease.
Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables you consume. Also eat whole grain foods like whole-wheat pasta and bread instead of products like white bread that are made of refined grains. Such foods boost your general health and help you maintain a healthy weight, which in turn helps your kidneys health, notes the Australian State Government of Victoria's Better Health Channel.
How to Improve Kidney Function Naturally
Protein is an important part of any diet. It builds muscle and repairs damage in the body. Unfortunately, many sources of protein are harmful to someone at risk for kidney disease. When a diabetic, for example, eats animal protein, the levels of glomerular filtration rate(GFR) shoot up and reduce his function. After consuming soy protein, however, the person's GFR remains unchanged. Soy is a good choice for improving kidney function.
Drink soy milk or use it in a fresh fruit smoothie to get your daily intake of fruit. Soy protein powders are also available; they can be added to smoothies to increase protein intake. Experiment with different brands of soy protein bars until you find one you like.
The kidneys, blood pressure and sodium intake are all connected. By lowering sodium intake, you improve your blood pressure and your kidney function. The body needs some sodium, but you'll need to cut back a great deal.

How Does Chinese Medicine Herbs Treatment For Polycystic Kidney Disease(PKD)

Polycystic kidney disease is an inherited kidney disorder that enlarges the kidneys and interferes with their function because of multiple cysts on the kidneys.
People with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) usually feel or have symptoms when they are more than 30 years old. In western countries, they often use puncture or LRCD, etc to treat Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). However, the effect is not so satisfactory. Is there a brand new method which can achieve a better treatment? In this passage, doctors in Shijiazhuang Kidney Disease Hospital will introduce stem cell transplant, which has proved to have treated thousands of patients. How does chinese medicine roles in treating Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
As we know, the pathogenesis of Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is due to the transformation of renal tubular endothelial cell. When the cysts are small, they can not press the renal parenchyma, and cause any threat. However, with time going, cysts will grow, which leads to squeeze on renal tissues and renal blood vessels, thus causing obstruction in partial micro-circulation. Consequently, the insufficiency of blood and oxygen will take place. Then, endothelial cell of blood capillaries will be damaged, which attracts the inflammatory cell infiltration. Infiltration accelerates the renal glomerular partial inflammatory reaction.
Micro-Chinese Medicine can expand the blood vessels on the face of cysts, accelerate the blood circulation, promote the permeability of cyst wall, then the sac liquid can flow out through the cyst wall with the blood circulation. In this way, cysts will be narrowed. However, how to prevent the appearance of new cysts?
Micro-Chinese Medicine has functions in repairing damaged kidneys, thus recovering kidney functions. After kidney functions have been improved, the toxins, excessive fluid and sac liquid will be eliminated with the urine. So, we can prevent the sac liquid flow into cysts, thus preventing the appearing of new cysts and the enlargement of small cysts as well.

Top 6 Symptoms of Polycystic Kidney Disease

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a kind of genetic disease which is quite common in clinic. It refers to the numerous cysts in both kidneys which are fluid-filled and distribute symmetrically. In order to have proper precaution in advance, it is important for everyone to know more about Polycystic Kidney Disease and especially its common symptoms.
☆ Swelling in kidney.
The disease condition of both kidney differs from each other. The two kidneys will have different sizes and they can occupy all the space in abdomen in the later period of the disease. There are many cysts in the kidney, so the kidney will have irregular shapes and a hard texture.
☆ Pain in renal region.
Usually the sufferers will have pressed feeling and dull pain in loin or abdomen. The pain will appear or aggravate after hard work, long-time walking and sitting, and it will release after a rest in bed.
☆ Hematuria.
About half of the sufferers will have microscopic hematuria, and sometimes it is gross hematuria. Hematuria is caused by the rupture of blood vessels in cysts' wall, and it is always accompanied with proteinuria, but the volume of urinary protein is small (<1.0g/d). Besides, the pyuria will be obvious when there is infection in the kidney.
☆ Hypertension.
Before the increase of serum creatinine, half of sufferers will have Hypertension. It is related to the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). Hypertension will have influence on the prognosis of sufferers with renal cysts.
☆ Renal insufficiency.
Generally speaking, only a few people can have renal insufficiency in the age younger than 40, and about half of the sufferers with PKD will retain their renal function at the age of 70. However, in some cases, the sufferers will deteriorate into renal failure during the adolescence.
☆ Polycystic Liver.
People who are diagnosed as ADPKD in their middle ages are usually accompanied with Polycystic Liver. Generally speaking, polycystic liver will appear 10 years later after PKD. Besides, sometimes there may be cysts in pancreas and ovary as well.
There are all the common symptoms of Polycystic Kidney Disease. I hope all the information above can be helpful for you. PKD is a genetic disease, so if you have the familial history of PKD, you should have examinations regularly. As long as you have some clinical symptoms, you had better go and see a doctor in order to have a proper treatment in time. If you have any questions, you are welcome to talk with our consultant online or leave a message to stemcellcn1@hotmail.com .

Renal cysts of 6 cm, urine occult blood 2, there are good treatment

Q: Renal cysts of 6 cm, urine occult blood 2, there are good treatment?
A: For renal cysts, hematuria There are two main reasons, First, increased renal cysts have been oppressed kidney function units to damage the functional cells, the formation of the inflammatory response, start the process of renal fibrosis, resulting in damage to the glomerular basement membrane, filtration The barrier has been damaged, leakage of red blood cells, the formation of hematuria. Second, because the cyst increases lead to cyst rupture of blood vessels, if not actively untreated, may lead to infection, resulting in sicker.
Surgical resection may be a short period of time to remission of disease, but can not eradicate the resection in the large bag also provides ample space for the surrounding small cyst, small renal cysts growing oppression of the renal parenchyma again, this vicious cycle so that many patients and friends to suffer the pain of the surgery repeated, so in order to completely cure you can use the micro-based traditional Chinese medicine infiltration therapy, the therapy is different from traditional Chinese medicine, but the activity factor of the Chinese medicines after super smash directly imported into the renal lesion sites, the drug can improve the vascular wall and the cyst circulatory disturbance state, to soften the wall of the cyst epithelial cells inactivated to inhibit the secretion of cystic fluid, effectively resist renal cysts increase. Cyst micro of traditional Chinese medicine has become, will increase the excretion of cyst fluid, cyst continuous retraction. At the same time, micro-based medicine can also be impaired function of cells of organic matter to accelerate kidney repair, so that diseases are the basic treatment.
It is worth recalling in treatment at the same time also be therapeutic assistance, the major principles of the diet is low salt, low fat, high-quality low-protein, high-calorie, patients with different conditions of different occult blood of patients with the best basis for the guidance of professional doctors rational diet ranked according to the specific matters can consult the experts, we will give you detailed answers. I wish you a speedy recovery!

What Is the Best treatment for PKD

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD or PCKD, also known as polycystic kidney syndrome) is a cystic genetic disorder of thekidneys.
Polycystic kidney disease is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases, affecting an estimated 12.5 million people worldwide. In half of the people with polycystic kidney disease, there is no family history of the disease. In these cases, the gene coding for the disease occurs out of a spontaneous genetic mutation without either parent being a carrier of the gene.
Chinese herbs do best in tring Polycystic Kidney Disease just because effective ingredients in Chinese herbs can protect healthy renal functional cells from being damaged. As long as no more renal cells are damaged, Polycystic Kidney Disease stop developing to kidney failure. Therefore, although Polycystic Kidney Disease can not be cured, PKD patients can live as long as a normal person through Chinese herbs.
Chinese herbs have many functions and different function plays different role in treating Polycystic Kidney Disease. For instance, active ingredients in Chinese herbs have function to extend blood vessels as well as decompose blood clots. Under the combined effects of these two functions, blood pressure in kidney can be lowered effectively. Cysts in Polycystic Kidney Disease are filled with yellow fluids which always flow toward the side with lower pressure. Therefore, when pressure outside the cyst decrease to the level lower than that inside the cyst, fluids ooze out of the cyst. Consequently cyst becomes smaller and further kidney damages are avoided.
