(1) Pains in the waist, abdominal discomfort: pain is characterized by pain, dull, fixed in one or both sides, down the Ministry of waist back radiation;
(2) hematuria: microscopic hematuria or gross hematuria;
(3) Sensible mass or lump in the abdomen: sometimes 60 to 80 percent for the main reason for patient visits palpable enlargement of the kidneys. Greater the kidney, the renal function was worse;
(4) Proteinuria: the protein leakage is usually less than 2 g in 24-hour urine nephrotic syndrome, it will not happen
(5) Hypertension: cyst oppression kidneys, causing renal ischemia, renin secretion increased, causing high blood pressure.

Causes of Edema in Kidney Cysts
Edema in the whole body is one of the most common symptoms in kidney cysts and it will bring a lot of inconvenience and discomforts to the patients. Therefore it is very important to know the causes of edema in kidney cysts so that more effective treatment can be taken according to different causes of the edema. In the following article, I will give a list of the causes of edema in renal cysts.
1. Retention of water and sodium. It is the most common in glomerulonephritis. Under normal circumstances, almost 99% of the water and sodium filtered by the glomeruli can be re-absorbed by the renal tubules. While in case of renal cysts, the glomerular filtration ability is reduced while the re-absorption ability of the renal tubules remains normal, thus leading to retention of water and sodium.
2. Hypoproteinemia. In case of renal cysts, the permeability of the glomerular basement membrane will increase and large amount of protein will be leaked into the urine. This will cause the decreased plasma protein concentration and plasma osmotic pressure, so the fluids will penetrate from the blood vessels to the tissues that are high in protein, thus leading to edema.
3. Liver damages. Patients that suffer from serious kidney damages usually have the complications of liver damage which is another cause of edema.
4. Other complications. This condition is more common in chronic renal insufficiency and end-stage renal failure. Renal cyst patients will suffer from anemia and as a result the secretion of renin will increase and cause hypertension. Anemia, hypertension, retention of metabolic wastes as well as the decreased immunity will cause heart damage which in turn is the cause of edema.
5. The use of hormones. When the kidneys are damaged by the cysts, there will be changes in the secretion of endocrines, for example there will be the increase of aldosterone and estrogen which will cause the retention of water and sodium and further aggravate renal edema.
There are many other factors that can cause edema besides the above mentioned factors. Therefore it is very important to first make clear the real cause of edema and then the treatments can be more targeted and effective.
Though edema is very common and most patients tend to neglect it. Long term edema can cause a lot of damages to the patients, the earlier the treatment is received, the better the curative effect will be.

Symptoms of Parapelvic Kidney Cysts
Parapelvic Kidney Cyst is a common kind of simple renal cyst and it is originated from outside the renal sinus and invades into the renal sinus.
The parapelvic kidney cyst is a benign cyst and when the cyst is smaller than 5cm, patients have no obvious symptoms or discomforts at all. However the cyst will continue to enlarge as time goes. When the patients have obvious symptoms and go to the hospital, usually substantial renal damages have been caused and it is difficult to reverse the kidney damages.
I then will give a list of the common symptoms of parapelvic kidney cysts so that you can take precautionary measures once you have these symptoms.
1. Pains or discomforts in the back, abdomen. The oppression of the cysts to the renal pelvis and the ureter will cause the smooth muscle spasm or the enlarged parapelvic kidney cysts stretch the renal capsule.
2. Blood in urine. In case of smooth muscle spasm, there will be microscopic or gross hematuria. In case of cyst rupture and if the cyst is connected with the renal pelvis, there will be gross hematuria or even blood clots.
3. Hypertension. The oppression of the parapelvic cysts to the surrounding renal tissues cause the states of hypoxia and ischemia in the kidneys, as a result the kidneys will secrete more rennin and angiotensin, thus leading to increased blood pressure.
4. Lumps in the belly. When the cyst is too big, patients can sense obvious lump. And in such cases, patients need to pay more attention to avoid any bump or strenuous activities to avoid cyst rupture which will cause serious consequences and can even lead to the sharp fall of the renal functions.
5. It is very easy for parapelvic kidney cyst patients to have urinary tract infections, especially for women. In case of infections, patients will suffer from shivering, fever and knocking pains in the renal area. In such case immediate treatments should be sought to prevent further deterioration of the illness conditions.
It does not definitely indicates parapelvic cyst if you have these symptoms, but you should go to see the doctors as soon as possible to make clear the real causes and take proper treatments accordingly.
